The view from my study (2nd February)...

The First Post

Spring is in the air, Eric and I are gradually coming out of hibernation. Daffodils are out; this years first pigeons are three weeks old already, and I should really start digging up at the allotment now that the earth has begun to thaw.

Just a few words for now- I'm working on a website which will be ready soon- with images of my work and projects up to date. I'll post the link as soon it is live. In the meantime, images and information can be found at: www.flickr.com/lornacrabbe

And a few things coming up:

Bath Artists' book fair/ exhibition @ WalcotMart (see attached invite) 7th & 8th March 2009. WalcotMart is a beautiful shop/ gallery/ hangout in Bath City Centre co-run by my dear old friend and stargazer, Kerry Badger. We have organised this small fair to celebrate our love of books, and as an opportunity to catch up and drink tea. Would be great if you could join us! More details at www.walcotmart.com

I'll be selling some books at the Craft Fair at The Street, Hastings, Sunday 15th March 2009- featuring locally crafted ceramics, jewellery, lingerie, homemade cakes, books, toys and cards. Plus live music. More details TBC.

My article
Delicate Handling: An Exploration of Women's History in the Bookbinding Industry is to be published in the April edition of The Blue Notebook journal, Centre for Fine Print Research, UWE. See: http://www.bookarts.uwe.ac.uk/bnotebk.htm

An exhibition is planned at Crabbe Palace to coincide with the Jack-in-the-Green festival, May 2009. More details soon, but the contributing artists will be Nikki Tompsett, Scott Robinson, Nick Morley and I, working thematically with costume, ritual, folklore, ceremony and celebration. We'll have a number of events to tie-in, including (hopefully!) live acoustic punk poetry...

Also.... The Work Ship........... (fingers crossed- more to follow!!)
