Doll man and shark teeth beaks...

I'm dressing bird dolls in obsessively hand-made burial costumes for the Hastings Rarities Affair exhibition, at Hastings Museum and Art Gallery, this September. The museum holds an archive of this ornithological scandal, and a number of local artists are producing work in response. We're being photographed with binoculars and guns out in the wilds of Winchelsea this coming weekend, by the Lambie Brothers. Not yet sure if I'll go for the full Bird Woman outfit, but Sombre the crow will definitely be making an appearance...

I've also recently been selected to produce illustrations for a poetry anthology Birdbook. My birds are: Feral Pigeon, Wryneck and Treecreeper, and the book should be published in the summer.

Potential forthcoming exhibitions include the Rye Art Gallery in May, and the latest TIG (The Illustration Group) show at Trinity Gallery, Tunbridge Wells, in August.

And Rachel Carvosso and I are still collaborating in a Japanese exchange exhibition. Provisionally themed 'Home', I'm selecting the work of fifteen UK artist/ illustrators to send over to a gallery in Tokyo, for September.
